This report by Centrepoint examines the scale and impact of food insecurity among homeless and housing-insecure young people aged 16–25 in England. It finds that nearly two-thirds of vulnerable young people lack regular access to safe and nutritious food, with low income, benefit system failures, debt, and inadequate cooking facilities as key drivers. Food insecurity is shown to damage physical health, mental wellbeing, and engagement in education and employment. A national poll of 2,000 young people also found high levels of food insecurity across the general youth population, with nearly half having gone to bed hungry in the past year.
