This discovery research report examines how child sexual and criminal exploitation is identified and responded to in East Riding of Yorkshire. It finds that awareness of exploitation is low across non-specialist services, families are often not listened to when they raise concerns, and children frequently wait years before receiving specialist support. The report identifies 12 recommendations for system change, covering earlier identification, faster referral pathways, trauma-informed practice, and more child-centred language and service delivery.
