This report by the London Community Foundation examines the role of community-based organisations in tackling rising youth violence in London. Drawing on interviews with grassroots charities, frontline practitioners, youth workers, ex-offenders and politicians, it finds that community organisations are uniquely placed to provide prevention, crisis intervention and rehabilitation support. The report argues that these organisations' trust, local knowledge and lived experience make them essential partners in any long-term strategy, but that they are under-resourced and often excluded from strategic decision-making. It calls for a multi-agency public health approach that places community voices at the centre of policy responses to youth violence.
