This report by Become examines the housing experiences of care-experienced young people in England, finding that they are nine times more likely to face homelessness than peers and that the number facing homelessness rose 54% in five years. Young people described a "double trauma" of being forced to leave care before they were ready and then being moved into unsafe or inappropriate accommodation. The report draws on interviews and workshops with care-experienced young people, Freedom of Information requests to all English local authorities, and analysis of government statistics to make recommendations for legislative and policy reform.
