Activity Alliance Annual Survey Impairment Report 2023-24: Differences for People with Different Impairment Types
Activity Alliance · 2024
About this report
This report presents findings from Activity Alliance's fifth Annual Disability and Activity Survey, focusing on differences in sport and physical activity experiences across seven impairment types. It finds that disabled people across all groups widely want to be more active but face significant barriers including their condition itself, cost of living pressures, lack of confidence, and limited representation in sport. People with learning, mental health, and social or behavioural impairments tend to face more pronounced barriers and lower wellbeing scores compared to disabled people overall, while motivations and preferred sources of advice vary meaningfully by impairment type.
